After recurring and unresolved problems with this free blog service, I've had enough of the hassle, and so I'm switching to a new address. It'll be the same kinda blog, with the same name, just with a new URL.

The new URL is a bit long (http://my.opera.com/peoplesrepublicof/blog/) but no-one actually types addresses these days: it's all bookmark-clickin', RSS-sippin', and link-lurvin' amongst the kids in 2007, so it doesn't really matter!

Please now hop on over to the new blog space, and I hope you agree it looks nicer and loads faster. Please also take a second to change blog-rolls where I have been kindly added to yours. Off we go then...

Sorry about the blog problems... It seems all my images from the folders inside my blog.com account have vanished/failed, and therefore no images are loading, including the banner. Thus my blog looks weirdly grey and blank.

I have everything backed-up in my laptop at home, of course, but now I'm stuck in the office, and can't do anything to fix it. I'm not sure if re-uploading will even work, however, as I've had problems trying to upload new material before. Perhaps best to abandon this crappy blog service as soon as I decide on an alternative. Grrrrr!

Any suggestions? I'm a total Google-phile, so Blogger is the obvious answer, except that blogspot and blogger domains are blocked in China. And the same goes for the free Wordpress and Typepad blogs. What with blog.com's crappiness and the Great Firewall, I am truly stuck between a rock and a hard place...

image (from a 3rd-party source!): that's Blog.com, that is.
